Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. LeCroy's class has partnered with Ebenezer 3rd graders. The Children's school 4th and 5th graders, and 9th graders at South Pointe to help the City of Rock Hill gather artifacts and oral histories of people who were a part of the African American Business District here in Rock Hill. The city is trying to collect information to help in the creation of an outdoor museum to celebrate this part of Rock Hill history.
Students decided to form two teams. One team worked on the Thank-You sign and the other team worked on the Welcome sign. They had to brainstorm ideas first and then they voted on which designs to use in the final sign.
Hard at work designing our posters for "interview" nights.
Check out our finished products!!
We had to begin interviewing people in our community to gather facts and data for our project. We also needed to practice our interviewing skills. Mrs. Chrome came to share her memories of Rock Hill and to let us practice our interviewing skills. She volunteers at our school.
Mrs Mills and Mrs. Love visited our school to share their memories of Rock Hill as well as their time spent at Sunset Park as students, years ago.
We created bookmarks to handout to guests that come to our "interview" nights. We will hand them out as they leave.
We are so ready for tonight!!
We had some great help from South Pointe students tonight
